Hi, Even on the most chaotic news days, we can't imagine being anywhere else other than right here with you in Dallas.
We've certainly had our work cut out for us this year. At this point, who can even remember Zach Freeman, the Concerned Parent of North Texas whose online videos mocking far-right talking points went viral? Nice try, sir, and better luck next time. And what about our story on the new generation of politically progressive artists in country music? (All of them better than Kid Rock, though no doubt he'll get an invite to the White House.) And let's not forget our report on how adult video stores are getting creative to stay in business in the age of free internet porn — and still selling DVDs. (Because really, don't we all miss narrative arcs, masterful dialogue and character development? What is that pizza delivery guy's motivation?)

Even with as long as we've been here in Dallas, we never find ourselves short on news. That's in huge part because of our fellow Dallasites.
You keep our city moving forward: Every time you visit a local restaurant, attend a local concert, or shop at a local business. Every time you cast your vote, dissent at a public forum, or even just dig deep to find hope that this will be the Cowboys' year.
Every time you choose to step out your door and into our community, you contribute to the unique voice of Dallas. |
