It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on what analysts are upgrading or downgrading.
But never use those ratings as your sole reason to buy. Instead, do your own due diligence with a look into fundamentals and technical analysis. After all, analysts aren’t perfect.
That being said, here’s what analysts like heading into 2025.
Company: American Airlines (SYM: AAL)
Raymond James’ analysts just upgraded AAL to an outperform rating with a price target of $24, which is 38% above current prices.
As noted by MarketWatch.com, “American in December raised its guidance for fourth-quarter revenue per available seat mile by two to three percentage points to a range of zero to 1%, compared with a Raymond James outlook and the consensus forecast calling for a decline of 2% and 1%, respectively. The airline also raised its adjusted per-share earnings range to 55 cents to 75 cents from 25 cents to 50 cents previously. That compares with the Raymond James forecast of 50 cents and the consensus of 39 cents before the update.”

Morgan Stanley upgraded Reddit to overweight from equal weight, citing the company’s “multiple levers” for growth in 2025.
“Reddit's daily active users (DAUs) have grown about 20% faster than Morgan Stanley's model had projected, and the analysts said they expect Reddit's user base to keep growing along with the time users spend on the platform,” added Investopedia.com.

Analysts at JPMorgan just upgraded Xometry (SYM: XMTR), an AI-powered marketplace that connects customers with manufacturers.
The firm also raised its price target by $20 a share to $45.
