Justin Francis OBE is a leading advocate for responsible tourism. In 2001, he co-founded Responsible Travel to promote tourism that benefits communities and protects nature. He also launched the World Responsible Tourism Awards in 2004. A trusted advisor on sustainable tourism, he has influenced UK government policy, including initiatives for zero-carbon aviation. He also supports community-led safaris in Kenya and champions accessible travel. |

Annabel joined The Independent in January 2022 and has held the title of Global Travel Editor since October 2023. She has lived and worked across the world, with long periods in India, Spain, Mexico and seven years in the USA based in New York. She has a particular interest in adventure travel, including mountaineering, skiing, trail running (and anything that involves a bit of adrenaline). As Executive Editor (Ecommerce), Annabel oversees all ecommerce editorial at The Independent, including product reviews, fashion and beauty, wine and wellness. |

Ben Parker is travel editor at The Independent. In 2021, Ben won silver in AITO's Young Travel Writer of the Year category for a feature on sailing around Indonesia with his grandmother, and he has also been shortlisted as Travel Writer of the Year numerous times (AITO 2021 and 2022, Travel Media Awards 2021, TravMedia Awards 2022). Ben was previously a commissioning travel editor at The Telegraph and has also written for The Economist, The i, Conde Nast Traveller, The New York Post and Tatler. Ben began writing about travel after working for several years with acclaimed travel writer and author Sophy Roberts. He has also edited two cookery books, and has a soft spot for his hometown in west Dorset. |
