We just heard from a mom who ordered the new book Dragon Slayers, sharing an amazing story about its impact on her family.
"This summer I've taken my boys on two hikes. The first was a disaster. My five year old and three year old made it about 10 minutes in the summer heat before sitting on the dirt trail and crying for their dad to carry them. We tried all the tricks - inspiring them, promises of ice cream, etc. It just didn't work. My poor husband ended up putting one on his shoulders and the other on his back, and we walked back to the car. We recently ordered the book Dragon Slayers and the boys have been loving it. The framework is brilliant and they are learning to fight the emotional and spiritual dragons that prevent them from growing strong in Christ. Just last Friday, I tried the hike again, on an even hotter day. When my boys began to pout, all I had to say was "Don't you want to be Dragon Slayers?" I then asked them which dragon was holding them back. Both boys named the dragon and enthusiastically continued the hike to the end."
This is why we believe in good Catholic literature. Perhaps the greatest disservice we can do our children is to not see them as full persons. Young people face challenges every day, just like us but without the skills and wisdom to handle them - anxiety, fear, self-doubt, anger, apathy, gossip, shame all plague our children and unfortunately it isn't getting better. These "dragons" threaten to bring kids down or hold them back and good Catholic books like Dragon Slayers help them to grow in the skills they need to embrace a life of virtue and faith.
Through the book, readers will be empowered to put on the Spiritual Armor, follow teachings of the Ancient Manual (the Bible), and rely on Jesus, the Chief Dragon Slayer. Powerful prayers and encouragement to consult Senior Dragon Slayers of Old (or Christian heroes and saints) throughout history allows 8- to 12-year-olds to grow in their faith, ask for help, and identify harmful threats to their emotional, spiritual and mental well-being.
Ideal for ages 6 to 13, Dragon Slayers will appeal to boys and girls who love epic stories of good and evil, bravery and peril, dragons, knights, and shining armor.
This book is so good, we've given it to our employees for their children and encourage you to do the same.
God bless you,
