THE 101: The federal government reversed its decision to let Minnesota investigators access evidence in the probe of an ICE officer's fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Good, and Minnesota's Bureau of Criminal Apprehension withdrew from the investigation. Vice President J.D. Vance said the officer is protected by "absolute immunity," while state leaders including Gov. Tim Walz and Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty pushed for state participation and alternatives.

Hundreds of protesters marched Thursday night down one of Minneapolis' major thoroughfares over Good's shooting, and have blocked off the street where she was shot in the head.

Tonight will bring back some snow chances for southeastern Iowa around and after midnight. We can expect some spotty snow showers to continue through Saturday afternoon with some gusty winds. In these pockets of snow showers, we could see brief reduced visibilities and patchy slick spots. These will be quick to move out, so long-term impacts aren't expected and accumulations will be low.
