Good Morning! Momma said there’d be days like these, but was she talking about the Porsche market? Sure, the yellow sell-through rate line is pointing straight down, but we’ve seen this movie before, even in months that ultimately averaged a strong 75%. |

Introduced for the 2023 model year, the 718 Style Edition served as one of Porsche’s final celebrations of the internal combustion Boxster and Cayman before the model line transitions to electric power. Based on the entry-level 718, it focused on distinctive styling rather than additional performance, featuring 20” 718 Spyder wheels in high-gloss black, high-gloss black trim, unique exterior graphics, and an expanded selection of standard equipment. Available in both Boxster and Cayman form, the Style Edition gave buyers one last opportunity to enjoy Porsche’s 2.0-liter flat-four in a well-equipped package. |
This 2024 718 Boxster Style Edition 6-Speed came finished in Ruby Star Neo over a Chalk leather interior and showed 15,900 miles. It was optioned with the Sport Chrono and Premium Packages, adding to an already well-equipped special edition. Finished in one of Porsche’s most eye-catching modern colors, the car appeared to be in excellent condition inside and out. |
Over the past eighteen months, we’ve seen just two other 718 Boxster Style Editions cross the block. A 965-mile example sold for $78,000 in July of last year, while an 8,490-mile car failed to sell at a final bid of $69,001 in May 2025. Despite showing nearly twice the mileage of that no-sale, our Spotlight Car came surprisingly close, hammering at a final bid of $64,000. It just wasn’t enough to satisfy the seller. |

When it was time to sell my beloved C4S, I had all the options available to me. I could have listed it privately, but I didn’t want to deal with weeks of inquiries from buyers who needed financing, lowballers (I know what I got!), or tire-kickers coming to my house. I could have gone the auction route, and I’m well versed there, of course, but I just didn’t have the time to properly list the car or manage the process. I’ve got writing to do. |
In the end, I sold it to a dealer. It was simply easier, and the offer landed right in line with where I would have estimated it had I been writing about it here. |
But I really wish I had known SML reader Niket was launching VinBidders. |
VinBidders is an alternative designed specifically for vehicles like ours, promising strong value for a fraction of the effort. You submit your car in about five minutes. They send an inspector to your driveway and handle the full photo gallery at no cost to you. From there, a network of 30+ verified dealers places blind bids, competing against each other, with no public listing, no VIN history attached to the transaction, and no audience. You only pay $149 if the car sells, and the winning dealer handles all the paperwork, logistics, and payoff. Most sellers get through the process from listing to sale in under a week. |
These dealers NEED your car. And let’s be honest, they’re typically the winning bidders online anyway. Put it in front of them in five minutes and get started with VinBidders today. And if you'd like to use VinBidders to sell your car, promo code STMKT will get you $100 off the seller's listing fee so you pay only $49 and only if your car sells. |

Finished in Paint-to-Sample Venetian Blue Metallic over a Marine Blue partial leather interior, this 1989 911 Carrera Targa 5-Speed showed 33,000 miles and looked to be in very nice condition as evidenced from the hundreds of pictures in the gallery which included paint meter readings, a binder full of records, and compression tests. It brought the bids as it sold at a final bid of $140,000, the second highest price paid for a non-M491 Carrera 3.2 over the past twelve months.
It’s not every day that a Paint-to-Sample car sets a new low. This 2021 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition came finished in PTS Nato Olive over a Black and Atacama Beige leather and corduroy interior and came with over $36,000 in options including a Sport Exhaust, Front-Axle Lift, Rear-Axle Steering, and more. But it did have the highest mileage we’ve seen over the last twelve months for a Heritage Targa, showing 5,000 on the clock. It sold at a final bid of $205,000, $10k less than the next lowest sale with 2,300 miles. I’ll take high miles and color any day!
This 2023 911 Carrera T Coupe 7-Speed came finished in Gentian Blue Metallic over a Black leather with checkered Sport-Tex interior and showed 8,000 miles on the odometer. It was nicely optioned with SportDesign Front and Side Skirts along with Front-Axle Lift, Rear-Axle Steering, Burmester, and more for an original MSRP of $153,390. Options and condition pushed this one past the $130,000 high estimate to hammer at $136,000.

While it seems like every-other 992.1 GT3 RS to come up for sale is Paint-to-Sample, this is the first PTS 991.1 GT3 RS since March of 2025 to cross the online auction block. Finished in Viper Green over a Black leather and Alcantara interior, this 2016 911 GT3 RS sports factory options like PCCB brakes, Front-Axle Lift, and more and shows just under 2,000 km (~1.1k miles) on the clock. Yes, I said Kilometers, as this is a Canadian-market example. If this were a US car, non-PTS comps would put it in the $233-255,000 range. But PTS and Canadian? Maybe they cancel each other out and it sells within comps. We shall see.
With a 3.2-liter flat-six out back, I’m sure this 1973 911T Targa 5-Speed moves. Probably why they chose a rolling shot as their hero image! Originally a Gold Metallic example, this T was repainted Silver and fitted with rear fender flares and a 911S-style front bumper. On the inside you’ll find a set of Recaro seats in Black with houndstooth inserts along with RS-style door panels and a Raid three-spoke steering wheel. The 3.2 was sourced from a 1986 911 and features an Eisnbud ECU chip and plenty of work since the 2020 install with an oil change, leakdown test, and compression test preformed in preparation for the sale. Custom LWB Ts range from $22,250 all the way up to $425,000. Definitely over $100k, maybe even up to $200k.
I usually skim right past Panameras, but this 2011 Panamera Turbo caught my eye with a set of Yellow brake calipers peaking out from behind the wheels. Showing just 23,000 miles, this example is very well modified with Sport, SportDesign, Sport Chrono Plus, and Carbon Interior packages as well as Burmester, a Sport exhaust, PDCC, Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment, heated Adaptive Sport Seats, four-zone climate control, 20″ 911 Turbo II wheels, and Black xenon headlights with PDLS for an original MSRP of $176,135. The current twelve-month high of $45,250 is definitely in trouble.
