Good Morning! I’ve always found it odd that Porsche skipped the Carrera S during the 996 generation. The 993 Carrera S was a hit, and the formula returned for the 997, but the 996 only got the Carrera 4S. Maybe Porsche thought the lineup was crowded enough, but a Turbo-bodied, rear-wheel-drive 996 sounds pretty fantastic to me. I can’t be the only one who thinks so. |

When the 997-generation 911 debuted for the 2005 model year, it marked the return of the Carrera S, a designation that had been absent from the 996 lineup. Sitting above the standard Carrera, the Carrera S received a larger 3.8-liter flat-six producing 355 horsepower, along with PASM adaptive suspension, larger brakes borrowed from the 996 Turbo, and 19-inch wheels as standard equipment. Combined with the return to more traditional 911 styling, most notably the round headlights, the Carrera S quickly became the enthusiast’s choice and remains one of the most popular variants of the 997 generation today. |
This 2007 911 Carrera S Cabriolet came finished in Black with a Black soft top over a Black leather interior, showed 30,000 miles, and came optioned with BOSE, 19” Turbo wheels, and more. While the one-owner CarFax was certainly a plus, service history was limited to just four records. Overall, it appeared to be a nice driver-quality example showing the expected wear on the paint and interior for its age. |
Over the past twelve months, 997.1 Carrera S Cabriolet values have averaged $46,300, with a low of $31,247 and a high of $72,000 for a Forest Green Metallic example with 52,000 miles. Our Spotlight Car failed to sell back in May at a final bid of $39,000, but comps suggested it belonged in the $47,000–$57,300 range. This time around, it found a new home at a final bid of $50,000, right in the market. |

Over the last twelve months we’ve only seen four 997.2 Turbo S Cabs. cross the block with just two finding new homes. This 2012 911 Turbo S Cabriolet came finished in Carrara White with a Cocoa soft top over a Sand Beige leather interior and showed 71,000 miles on the odometer. While it was up there in the mileage, it did come from its original owner, which helped it top the $80,000 paid for a 32,000-mile example and hammer at a final bid of $97,500.
Keeping with the Turbo theme, this 2002 911 Turbo Coupe 6-Speed came finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Black leather interior but showed just 23,000 miles. It featured aftermarket 19” wheels along with a Cargraphic exhuast and Rennkit eRam rear spoiler kit and came with a good amount of service records in the gallery along with a DME report. Estimates put it in the $79,900-110,800 neighborhood, with it selling towards the top of the range at a final bid of $109,100.
This 2022 911 GT3 Touring 6-Speed came finished in Paint-to-Sample Slate Gray over a Black interior and showed 2,100 miles on the odometer. It was well-optioned with PCCB brakes, Front Axle Lift, Adaptive Sport Seats, and more for an original MSRP of $204,350. Estimates put it in the $292,600-$348,600 range, but it failed to get there, as it went unsold at a final bid of $285,000.

Now this is one bad @$$-looking 914! Built for SCCA events, this 1972 914 Race Car features a GT Racing fibergrlass body finished in Speed Yellow with 934/5-style front lights and huge flared fenders with vents over 16” wheels mounted with Hoosier race tires. The inside is all-business and includes what looks to me as the most uncomfortable passenger seat I think I’ve ever seen. Out back you’ll find a 3.0-liter 911SC engine built by Tarkus Motorsports in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There’s a huge spread for 914 race cars with prices ranging from the mid-teens into the six-figures for some nice GT tributes. With this one eligible for SCCA, SVRA, Historical, and PCA race series, I’d expect it to at least be in the top half of pricing.
You know if it's Fjord Green, it’s going in here! This 1958 356A Speedster was originally finished from the factory in Fjord Green, was repainted in 2006 and shows just 2,200 miles since the refurbishment. The inside is finished in Tan leather with Beige square-weave carpets and a numbers-matching 1.6-liter is found out back. The car looks to be in very nice condition with plenty of detailed photos in the gallery. My only gripe is I’d love to see more from the photo album of the restoration, as I love stuff like that. The top of the 356A Speedster market sits in the $348,200-491,000 range, we’ll see if this one can break into it. Color alone gives it a shot in my book.
The last time we saw this Paint-to-Sample Ipanema Blue Metallic 2024 911 GT3 RS was a little over a year ago when it sold at a final bid of $415,666 with 896 miles on the clock, and it looks like someone at least got to enjoy her as it now shows 2,300. Along with the PTS paint, this RS came optioned with a Black interior with GT Silver stitching along with Front Axle Lift, PCCB brakes, PDLS+ headlights, and more but interestingly, doesn’t have the Weissach Package. PTS 992.1 RS averages are up ~$38,000 over the last six months, so there’s a chance this one comes close to where it sold last time, even with a few more miles.
