Good Morning! While we haven’t seen a 996 GT2 Clubsport, today’s Spotlight Car, cross the block at a U.S. auction, they do pop up overseas from time to time. But do you know what we really haven’t seen in the past twelve months? An early 2018 or 2019 718 Boxster GTS. A reader recently reached out asking for pricing guidance, and I was stunned when I dug through both my data and other sources. |

The 996 GT2 Clubsport was the most focused version of Porsche’s already uncompromising flagship 996, adding factory motorsport equipment for track use while retaining road legality. Clubsport models received a welded-in roll cage, Nomex-trimmed Recaro racing seats with six-point harnesses, a fire extinguisher, and a battery cut-off switch in place of many of the standard GT2’s comfort features. Just 70 examples were produced, none of which came to the US when new. |
This Black on Black 2001 911 GT2 Clubsport HAS made its way to the US and shows just 7,600on the odometer. In addition to the Clubsport Package, it featured the Carbon Package along with a carbon-fiber gear lever and handbrake. The seller disclosed some paintwork related to the removal of previously applied graphics and the car was accompanied by a service invoice from September 2025 for just under $10,000. |
As you can probably guess, I have zero comps over the last eighteen months and to be honest, I don’t think I’ve seen a 996 GT2 Clubsport on US shores before. Even overseas only three examples have crossed the block, one in the UK and one in Australia, which was the higher sale of the two at $269,636. Our Spotlight Car almost added another $200k to that number, with it selling for $467,250 all-in. |

This 2002 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet 6-Speed was modified by Gemballa North America in 2003 with their GTR 500 package, which added a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six, a six-speed manual transaxle, a performance exhaust system, and revised bodywork and ECU tuning. It comes finished in Seal Grey Metallic over an interior reupholstered in Red leather and shows just 6,000 miles on the clock. It last sold in March of 2025 at Gooding’s Amelia Island sale for $140,000 all-in after failing to sell online at $90,000 back in August of 2023. This time around, this Gemballa-modified 996 hammered at $130,000.
Finished in Guards Red over a Black leather interior, this 1987 944 Turbo showed just 18,000 miles on the clock. It looked to be in very nice condition from the photos in the gallery and included paint meter readings, but no service records other than what was on the CarFax. Still, the final bid of $52,000 was pretty light, so no surprise it went RNM (reserve not met). Between this and yesterday’s 968 Club Sport, I’m starting to wonder where the transaxle love is.
After a bit of a lull, it looks like 993 Targas are back with this 1997 911 Carrera Targa 6-Speed hammering at a solid $135,000. Finished in Black over a Black leather interior, this example showed 47,000 miles on the clock and looked to be in nice condition with a binder full of records. Over the last twelve months mileage comps put it in the $96,700 to $124,000 range, but now it sits as the second-highest sale we’ve seen in that period. Well sold.

Not only does this Guards Red over Black 2002 911 Turbo Coupe 6-Speed have just 21,000 miles, it is also equipped with the X50 Performance Package which added larger K24 turbochargers, larger GT2-spec intercoolers, revised ECU programming, and a quad-pipe exhaust. With the last 14,000-mile X50 selling for $175,000 a few months ago, expect bids above $150k here.
The last time we saw this 1998 911 Carrera Cabriolet was back in July of 2022 when it sold for $60,000. Now showing 5k more miles at 52,000, this Arena Red over Cashmere Beige 993 now sports a proper set of Silver 17” Cup II wheels instead of the Black aftermarket wheels it previously wore and I’m not sure if it’s just better pictures, or the car was paint corrected as it just looks brighter. Either way, expect bids in the same neighborhood as Tiptronic 993 Cab. comps sit around the $60k mark.
Another one we’ve seen before, and one I certainly remember posting. This Japanese-market 1998 Boxster 5-Speed was painted Ruby Star by a previous owner and was last seen on BaT in September of last year where it sold for $13,500. Since that win the seller has added just 254 km for 131k km (~81k miles) and has changed fluids and corrected and ceramic coated the paint. Another one that should trade around where it sold previously.
