We’re back at the studio today, day two of five shooting Fall and Holiday.
Small thing from yesterday I thought was worth sharing. During a break, my mom Diana went through the rack of Summer pieces, the same ones in the 70% off sale, and pulled seven things for herself.
If you’ve been with us a while you might know that she’s the filter for everything we make. Before anything goes into production, the question is always would Diana would actually wear it. She says no a lot more than she says yes.
So when she took seven pieces off a rack she’s seen all season, I asked her which ones and why. Wrote it down on my phone while she talked.
The Giselle in Black. She said "It goes with everything, I can wear it to dinnerI can wear it with jeans or to dinner. Black tweed doesn't have a season."
The Allegra Jeans in White. Her answer "I live in white jeans half the year here and these are the ones that actually fit at the waist, don't bag out and never have to worry about being sheer."
The Gabrielle Blazer in Teal. "Look at the trim, look at the buttons. I've seen this jacket in Paris form twenty times the price. It's coming home with me."
The other four were the Cindy Blouse in White, Aria Jeans in Champagne and the Emilia Dress in Mint.
