The week ahead

Monday | Join us at 8am (all times BST) for our live World Cup news blog, which will take in fallout from the weekend’s quarter-finals and discussion as we look ahead to the midweek semis. And at 11am, we’ll have over-by-over cricket coverage from day four of the first women’s Test between England and India.

Tuesday | The World Cup news blog kicks off bright and early at 8am with all the buildup towards the mouthwatering first semi-final between France and Spain in Arlington, Texas, at 8pm when, of course, we’ll have unrivalled minute-by-minute updates. Before then, stage 10 of the Tour de France (11am) and the first men’s ODI between England and India (also 11am), will keep you entertained.

Wednesday | We start again with the World Cup news blog (8am), which will run all the way up to our bespoke minute-by-minute report on the second semi-final, at 8pm in Miami. The Tour de France continues to roll along in the day, with updates on stage 11 from Vichy to Nevers, a flat route that will suit the sprinters.

Thursday | Start the day with the World Cup news blog (8am), which will soak up reaction to the second semi-final and start looking ahead to Sunday’s final matchup in New York/New Jersey. Then we get padded up for over-by-over updates on England v India in the second men’s ODI (11am) before our rolling report on stage 12 of the Tour de France. We’ll also have hole-by-hole coverage throughout the day as round one of The Open swings into action at Royal Birkdale on Merseyside.

Friday | Yes, you guessed it, the World Cup news blog (8am) kicks off the day’s live offerings, with stage 13 updates on the Tour de France (12pm) and day two coverage of The Open through the day.

Saturday | Just a day out from the final, join us at 8am for the latest World Cup news and discussion. It’s Moving Day at The Open, and the leading golfers will be jostling for position at Birkdale as they look to give themselves a shot at lifting the Claret Jug. We’ll be online with updates at around 11am. Stage 14 of the Tour de France rolls into action at midday and then F1 revs up to the start line at at 3pm, when Belgian GP qualifying begins. At 4.40pm we’ll switch our attention to rugby union’s Nations Championship, with updates on South Africa v Wales and then Argentina v England (8.10pm) at the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades. And at 10pm it’s the World Cup third-place playoff in Miami.

Sunday | And so the 48-team World Cup finally ends with its showpiece final in New York/New Jersey at 8pm. Make sure you join us for the biggest game in football – and we’ll be up and at it with news, previews and discussion from 8am in our rolling news blog. There’s another shootout for glory before that, when the leading pack battle to lift the Claret Jug on day four of The Open. Follow hole-by-hole coverage from around 2pm. There’s plenty of other live sport on offer, too, with day three of the third men’s ODI at Lord’s between England and India starting at 11am, a gruelling mountainous stage 15 of the Tour de France at 12pm and lap-by-lap updates on the Belgian GP from 2pm.
