From the archive 2014 | Turning black gold into sporting glitter: what Azerbaijan tells us about modern sport The week ahead Monday | The week kicks off with the first of our European Athletics Championships liveblogs, which will begin at 7pm (all times BST) each evening, with the shot put, hammer throw, triple jump, the women’s 100m semi-finals and final, and the men’s 5,000m final among the events on the programme. Tuesday | There’s more European Athletics Championships action, with the women’s 5,000m final, women’s 100m hurdles final and men’s 100m final among the highlights. Wednesday | What’s that? Even more European Athletics Championships? There are the women’s 400m hurdles final and men’s 110m hurdles final to look forward to before, at 8pm, Paris Saint-Germain battle Aston Villa for the Uefa Super Cup. We’ll take in the buildup followed by minute-by-minute coverage. Thursday | More! European! Athletics! Championships! The fun continues with the women’s triple jump and pole vault finals, the men’s discus and 800m finals, and plenty more besides. Friday | Our Friday football blog will run from morning to late afternoon, with a focus on the start of the Championship, League One and League Two seasons. We’ll then have live coverage of the Championship opener, with Wolves hosting Blackburn at 8pm. Oh, and, you guessed it, there’s more European Athletics Championships. Saturday | Matchday live returns in the morning, taking in reaction to the game at Molineux and buildup to the afternoon kick-offs.
