Posted: 14 Jul 2008 12:33 AM CDT I’ve been away from my PC, so this is hardly up to the minute stuff, however I wanted to get this snippet up on the site before it was completely stale. As previously seen on Tech Crunch , Yahoo was rumored to be courting Demand Media, and Demand wants a truckload of cash. . . ie. BILLION$. However, it was later reported that “there has been no offer floated.” Demand Media is the parent company of domain registrar Enom.com and domain aftermarket site NameJet.com. The company also owns a variety of media sites such as eHow.com and Trails.com as well as web 2.0 / social media companies such as ChannelMe.tv and Pluck. If you want to know more about Demand, check the video of CEO Richard Rosenblatt from All Things Digital at the link or after the jump. There’s nothing in the video about the acquisition, but it’s a good candid interview.

Targeted TRAFFIC with 3 Auction Providers Posted: 13 Jul 2008 05:47 PM CDT The Targeted T.R.A.F.F.I.C. conference auction in New York will feature three different live auction providers, two in addition to Moniker. As announced on DNJournal, Thought Convergence’s new aquisition, DomainTools, will be one of the new auction providers. The third provider is expect to be announced shortly. [Update]: Thought Convergence was the recent buyer of the Domain “Aftermarket.com” at the DomainerMeeting Paris domain auction for $125,000, so the company is likely to use this as their new domain auction brand. [via DomainNameWire] Considering the deadline for auction bulk submissions at Moniker is on July 16th, hopefully the other auction providers will publish their terms and conditions shortly enabling domain owners to make a decision based on comparing all of the providers.
