Introductory Keynote address: Dave Van’t Hof – Sustainability Policy Advisor to Gov. Kulongoski

As the sustainability policy advisor for Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski,  Mr. Van’t Hof’s areas of focus include implementing the Governor's Executive Order on sustainability, directing the Governor's climate change initiatives, and fostering the development of renewable energy and associated technologies in Oregon.  Prior to joining the Governor’s Office, Mr. Van't Hof spent five years working for Stoel Rives LLP as a private sector attorney, focusing on natural resources, land use, and administrative law, with an emphasis on major project permitting and water rights.

 

Panelists:
Beth Heider - Chair of Skanska’s U.S. Green Council

As Senior Vice President of Pre-construction for Skanska USA Building Inc., Beth Heider isresponsible for the cost management of large-scale multimillion-dollar construction programs.Heider’s 27 years of professional experience include all phases of design and construction frommaster planning through project closeout as licensed architect, construction manager, costmanager and value engineering (VE) facilitator.

 

Matthew W. Donegan - Co-Founder and Co-President of Forest Capital Partners, LLC

Forest Capital Partners is a private forest landowner and leading grower of sustainably managed, certified timber products. They are the second largest forest land owner in Oregon, and one of the largest private landowners in the United States with properties in the Pacific Northwest, the Inland West, the Midwest, and the Southeast. Matt is a professional forester who also earned an MBA with concentrations in forest industries management and finance.

 

Martin Goebel - Founding President of Sustainable Northwest

Martin has been responsible for initiating most of Sustainable Northwest’s community sustainability partnerships in Oregon, Idaho, Washington and California. He spearheaded the early-stage design of Sustainable Northwest’s Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities Partnership and its sustainability finance initiatives and serves as the principal liaison with Sustainable Northwest’s board and donors. Martin received a Bachelor's Degree in Forestry at Oregon State University, and a Master's Degree at Texas A&M University in Natural Resources Conservation and Development.
