Forgetful Gentleman
Stationary that'll save your a**

It was right around this time last year that you determined
to show the ones you love how much you care for them, before
that show with cats wearing hats came on TV -- OMG that show
is good! Helping you at least appear thoughtful this year,
Forgetful Gentleman cards.

Founded by a couple of b-school buddies out to bring classy
back, SF-based FG's a manly line of occasion-themed cards
that're cleverly supported by a customizable reminder system
that'll automatically text/email you when an important date
is approaching, although hypothetically it could be used for
Veteran's Day as well. These bad boys come in sets of
twelve, either on handsome letterpress or slightly posher
linen stock, tastefully printed in black with declarations
like "Happy Birthday" and "Thinking of you" plus
accompanying iconography (lit candles, rotary phone, etc.),
along with envelopes and postage, which isn't for your
burgeoning stamp collection, so be cool. In addition, you'll
get a small booklet called "A Gentleman's Guide To
Articulate Writing", essentially a set of eloquent mad libs
that do the thinking for you, and're broken down into broad
categories like "Thank You Notes" and "Love Cards", with
little tips on writing and timing, e.g., overseas birthday
cards "should be mailed two weeks prior", and "you say
'congratulations' to the groom and 'best wishes' to the
bride", especially if she's a princess.

There's also the FG "Little Blue Book", a pocket-sized play
on the ubiquitous little black book, with 192 blank pages
and an expandable inner pouch for storing keepsakes, as long
as you can find them somewhere around here -- Oh God, where
in heaven's name did that cat get a beard? Crazy!
