 | LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- "The Social Network," the purported saga of Facebook with an ensemble cast, took the No. 1 spot at the U.S. box office during the weekend with $23 million.
The animated "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" was No. 2 with more than $10.85 million. "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" was third with $10.1 million.
All studio estimates are gross receipts via Box Office Mojo.

Continue Reading... Post a Comment | Share | Print COLOGNE, Germany (UPI) -- U.S. actors Jon Hamm and Elizabeth Moss picked up the third annual Hollywood Reporter Award in Germany for their work in "Mad Men," officials said.
The Hollywood Reporter said the pair watched themselves dubbed in German from the AMC show while in Cologne; the episode aired on pay-TV Fox.

Saturday's gathering at Miller Park reunited Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp, who helped form the first Farm Aid benefit concert in 1985 designed to raise awareness and money for family farms across the United States, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Sunday.

Gilmore died Sept. 25 of old age at a convalescent center near his home in Irvine, Calif., his nephew, Robb Weller, told the Los Angeles Times.
Starting on radio in the 1930s, Gilmore was the announcer on such programs as "Amos n' Andy," "Dr. Christian," "Red Ryder" and "The Sears Radio Theater."
