'127 hours' causing some audiences to faint

LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- The forearm amputation central to the plot of the upcoming film "127 Hours" has caused some early screening audiences to faint, a studio executive said.

"I would prefer that people not pass out -- it's not a plus," Stephen Gilula, Fox Searchlight co-president, was quoted as saying by the Los Angeles Times Saturday. "We don't see a particular publicity value in it."

Gabor's husband stung by swallowed bee

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (UPI) -- Prince Frederic von Anhalt, husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor, was hospitalized after being stung in the throat by a bee he swallowed, TMZ reported.

Von Anhalt told the gossip Web site he was "sunbathing and eating Kaiserschmarrn" at his home in Beverly Hills, Calif., Tuesday when he suddenly "could not breathe and turned blue" after swallowing a bee.

Von Anhalt was still hospitalized Saturday, TMZ said.

'Saw 3-D' tops box office

LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- "Saw 3-D" opened with $22.5 million for the No. 1 spot in weekend box office receipts, Box Office Mojo said.

"Paranormal Activity 2," which has raked in $65.7 million, took in $16.5 million in its second week of release.

"Red," an action flick starring Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren, was a distant No. 3 with $10.8 million. "Jackass 3-D" earned $8.4 million for No. 4. "Hereafter," a Warner Bros. film about life after death, earned $6.3 million for No. 5....

200 take part in Halloween 'Thriller'

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (UPI) -- At least 1,000 people watched about 200 hollow-eyed Halloween zombies dance to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" in Springfield, Mo., organizers said.

Saturday's Halloween bash at the Savoy ballroom was the city's first-ever zombie ball, and it won't be the last, organizers told the Springfield News-Leader.

Organizers Andy and Anne Walls said they hope to have twice as many zombies next year and said they've been practicing their "Thriller" dance moves...
