Nerdy Fresh
Local tee designer rounds out his collection

You can never expand too quickly, a philosophy echoed by Justin Timberlake's character in The Social Network, and Joey Fatone every time he hogged the backstage cocktail weenies. Expanding as fast as he can, Nerdy Fresh.
Started by a UTD undergrad barely a year ago as a tees-only concern, retro-pop-flavored Fresh is already moving on up to a full line of slightly more formal shirting, most still kept breezy with its original graphic, a spaceman in a bowtie dubbed Sir Astro (who's also a member of the Order of the Garner). The new stuff:
Cut & Sew: With slightly rounded collars and dual-button cuffs, these all-cotton button-downs come in three styles (blue chambray "Jimmy Brown" solid, brown or black "The Farmers" plaid), all hand-stitched by a Dallas tailor that does project orders for Saks, also a body part you'll hopefully never need hand-stitched.
Polos: Made using Outer Banks' best-quality cotton pique blanks, this style comes in red, Bimini blue, and white w/ black-trimmed red collar & cuffs, and's called the "J.Walker" after a buddy who wears nothing but polos, cutting a dashingly preppy figure as he refuses to use the damn crosswalk.
Crews: Dual cotton-poly sweatshirts include the heather grey "Fresh Teddy" with a bowtie'd bear, and the black, astronaut-emblazoned "Mondoe" -- not the "Rondoe", because then it'd be emblazoned with an alien.
Also out are five new tee designs, from "School of Fresh" (a crest of olive branches framing a pixelated 8-bit spaceman) to "The Beautiful Death", a single, bleeding Air Jordan, honoring the founder's first pair of sneakers, one half of which was oddly stolen -- so either there's a one-footed thief out there, or Fatone for once decided eating two was too much.
