94-year-old man fathers son

KHARKHODA, India (UPI) -- A 94-year-old man in India claims he has become the country's oldest father by siring a son.

Ramajit Raghav, a Kharkhoda farm laborer, said his wife, Shakuntala, who is in her mid-50s, recently gave birth to a son at Kharkhoda Civil Hospital, The Times of India reported.

Hospital officials confirmed the birth but did not confirm whether Raghav was the child's father. His claims would make him India's oldest father, edging out a man who fathered his 22nd child at the age of 90 in 2007.

Raghav said his son, Karamjit, was "god's gift" to him and his wife. Doctors said the child is in good health.

Triplets, 7, win chess nationals

EAST WINDSOR, Fla. (UPI) -- A set of 7-year-old triplets from New Jersey was dubbed the top team in the first grade section of the National Scholastic K-12 Chess Championship in Florida.

Katerina Varsou of East Windsor said her fraternal triplets, Andreas, Nicholas and Constantine Oskiper, only started playing chess about a year before taking the top spot at the Dec. 10-12 tournament, The New York Times reported.

The boys played as a team, adding together their scores at the end of the games.

"I've seen them more cheering for each other in the nationals than I have seen them do before," Varsou said.

The United States Chess Federation said it marked the first time a tournament had been won by a team of triplets.

How to Captivate a Man, Make Him Fall in Love with You
-- and Give You the World!

What special quality, trait, or personality does this woman
have that attracts men like a magnet, makes men powerless in
her hands, and makes them want to spend their lives with her?

What if I told you that you could make a man adore you just
by being yourself? Yes, you don't have to be anything but
yourself. There's just one condition. You also have to
understand what a man wants.

Sound to good to be true? Read a Chapter from
"The Woman Men Adore...and Never Want to Leave"

Car was too small for stolen TV

SACRAMENTO (UPI) -- Authorities in California said a trio of would-be TV thieves were foiled by the small size of their intended getaway car.

Sacramento police said the burglars took the TV from a Sedley Court home about 4 p.m. PST Sunday and left the large set on the sidewalk when it would not fit in their Lexus, The Sacramento Bee reported .

Police said information from a neighbor who witnessed the incident led them to trace the Lexus to a 19-year-old man, whom police did not identify.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and officers were searching for two alleged accomplices, police said.

Man makes, guitars from cigar boxes

NEW LENOX, Ill. (UPI) -- An Illinois man who has created 17 guitars from cigar boxes said he is also making a mandolin from the boxes and is now aiming to create a dulcimer.

New Lenox grandfather Chuck Meyer said he only played guitar "for about 10 minutes" when he was a teenager but his interest in the instrument was reignited when he saw a video on the Internet about cigar box guitars last year, the Chicago SouthtownStar reported.

"My jaw dropped. The sound was so clean and simple. I thought, 'Wow! I want to do that. Wow! I want to make one,'" he said.

Meyer said he has made 17 guitars in the past year and is completing work on an 8-string mandolin. He said he is next planning to make a dulcimer.

Meyer said he gives most of his creations to family and friends, but some of them can be purchased from Down Home Guitars in downtown Frankfort.

"It will never be a money-making venture," he said. "I'm really happy just building them."
