Under-17 Girls Blue St. Louis Scott Gallagher becomes second team to qualify for 2011 US Youth Soccer National Championships Day 3 of 3 complete Scores and Standings [link] On Twitter @nationalleague FRISCO, Texas (Jan. 2, 2011) – The US Youth Soccer National League Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 Girls competing this weekend solidified their standings today at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Soccer Complex in Orlando, Fla. Some highlights from today’s matches… Under-15 Girls SAC United Premier (MD) remains at the top of the standings after a 4-0 victory over BRYC 95 Elite (VA). Sheridan Street opened with a 1st minute goal and Imani Dorsey added one of her own in the 8th. Street upped the SAC lead to 3-0 with another in the 12th minute. Leah Hardin wrapped up the SAC win the 79th minute. Dorsey and Street lead the Under-15 Girls age group with five goals each this season. Though SAC is at the top of the standings, the Under-15 Girls champion will not be determined until league play resumes in Las Vegas March 18-20. Additional contenders for the title of champion include AFC 96 Elite (GA) and Match Fit Chelsea Beat (NJ). Under-16 Girls The Under-16 Girls Blue division had the potential to name a champion today, but draws in both games means the champion will not be determined until the remaining four teams in the division compete in Las Vegas. The Dallas Texans 95 Red (N-TX) needed a solid win over Brandon FC Flames-Blue (FL) today to the take the title and earn advancement to the 2011 US Youth Soccer National Championships, but their fate now depends on how Eclipse Select 94/95 and (IL) and So Cal Blues Draluck (CA-S) fare closing out their season. Both teams would need to go undefeated in their final three games of the season. In the Under-16 Girls Red division, Hurricane FC Shubert (OK) finished out a perfect season with today’s win over VSA Heat Blue (VA). Kristen Killion put up an early Hurricane goal in the 8th, but Ashley Herndon countered for VSA in the 20th. Elizabeth Keester secured the 2-1 win with a 44th minute goal. The winner of the Under-16 Girls Red division will be determined in the final weekend of league play as Legends Breakaway (CA-S) also hold a perfect record, but still have three games left to play in the final weekend. Under-17 Girls NSA Premier Fury (IL) wrapped up the U-17 Girls Red Championship Saturday, but finished off the 2010-2011 National League season undefeated with a 3-0 victory over McLean MPS Strikers (VA). Courtney McHugh put NSA ahead in the 47th minute and Corinne Harris scored her League leading 4th goal of the season in the 75th minute before Christina Ordonez added another three minutes later as NSA finished the season 6-0-1. A 0-0 draw versus Toro Bravo (NE) was enough for St. Louis Scott Gallagher (MO) to become the second National League team this season to earn a spot in the 2011 National Championships and claim the U-17 Girls Blue Championship. NASA 12 Elite II (GA) can still catch Scott Gallagher in points when they wrap up play in Las Vegas in March, but Scott Gallagher has the edge in the head-to-head matchup, giving them the title. National League action will resume March 18-20 at the 2011 Player’s Soccer Showcase in Las Vegas.
