Authorities know who bombed Moscow airport

MOSCOW (UPI) -- Russian authorities say they have identified the suicide bomber that killed 35 people at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport on Jan. 24.

But Federal Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said the 20-year-old man's name wouldn't be released while investigations continue, RIA Novosti reported.

Officials said the man was a resident of Russia's North Caucasus region and that the bomb was primarily aimed at foreigners.

Guards foil robbery attempt, killing one

CHICAGO (UPI) -- The attempted robbery of an armored truck in Chicago left one of the would-be robbers' dead and the other in critical condition, police said.

The two men attempted to rob a Garda armored truck as it was making a pickup at a Family Dollar store on Chicago's west side Friday morning, and a guard shot and killed one of the men, the Chicago Tribune reported Saturday.

Canada seeks way to oust exiled Tunisian

OTTAWA (UPI) -- The Canadian government is seeking the fastest legal method to extradite a relative of Tunisia's exiled president, the foreign affairs minister said.

Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon said the government wants Belhassen Trabelsi, the wealthy brother-in-law of ousted Tunisian President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali, out of the country as soon as possible, The Globe & Mail newspaper reported.

Charlie Callas missed by Hollywood

LAS VEGAS (UPI) -- Producer Mel Brooks called Charlie Callas, who died in Las Vegas this week, a one-man cast of characters who will be missed by his fellow comedians.

"Charlie Callas was a cast of thousands all by himself," Brooks told the Los Angeles Times. "The world of comedy will miss him very much."

Callas died of natural causes Thursday at the age of 83, his son, Mark, said.
