 | WASHINGTON (UPI) -- U.S. regulators said Monday they fined American Airlines $90,000 for failing to disclose a $30 fee applied to travel vouchers.
The vouchers were given to passengers who voluntarily gave up seats when a flight was overbooked, the Department of Transportation said.

Consumer spending rose less than expected and the 0.7 percent increase for December was revised to 0.5 percent. The Commerce Department said incomes rose 1 percent in the month. An increase was expected, as a federal payroll tax break took effect in January.
