Social Media Management Firm Syncapse Raises Additional $25 Million

Syncapse, an enterprise-focused social media technology company, announced on Thursday that it has closed a $25 million round of Series C funding. Venture capitalist firm ABS (News - Alert) Capital Partners will be the sole contributor of the thriving startup's most aggressive round of funding to date.


For only raising about $5 million before the most recent round of financing, Syncapse already has a large of workforce of around 150 people and an impressive list of customers, including Research in Motion (News - Alert), Unilever, EA and Sony. ABS Capital will be Syncapse's first institutional investor. The company raised two earlier rounds of financing from the Business Development Bank of Canada, totaling $5.3 million.

Syncapse partners with large enterprises to help them expand, manage and measure their social media presence on a global scope. The company's platform is designed to offer customers a full-service social media management solution, which includes social media publishing, customized workflow, content management and analytics.Clients can use Syncapse's platform to build comprehensive and unified social media campaigns across distinct networking sites like Facebook (News - Alert), Twitter, Orkut, YouTube, WordPress and MovableType.

Syncapse founder and CEO Michael Scissons said that the company will use the new influx of cash to invest in product development, sales and marketing initiatives. Over the next nine months, Scissons expects the company to bring on approximately 100 new employees, according to Mashable.Furthermore, Syncapse will elicit the help of Stephen England-Hall, CEO at Razorfish UK, to expand the company's presence in England. ABS Capital general partners Ralph Terkowitz and Deric Emry will each be given seats on Syncapse's board of directors as part of the financing deal...Read More>>
