This week? Two things. Facebook Places, the location based service of the world’s biggest social network is available across the region. Since most big brands advertise and use Facebook in their marketing, startups should be inform themselves about how to leverage Facebook Places on their own projects, through integrations, etc.
PayPal has also finally enabled selling through their service in Croatia, leading a lot of entrepreneurs to question the tax and business implications of using their service. It’s always good when you have another service to charge your customers, but with PayPal you’ll have to wait 30 days to see the revenue. As far as tax goes, the same rules apply as with any payment process so talk to your accountant.

Startup srijeda is a monthly informal gathering for entrepreneurs, investors and anyone else interested in web startups. It’s organized by the Croatian angel network CRANE and the Initium association. This week Mr. Marijan Ožanić will present how the Development Agency of Zagreb can help startups. Two startups will present their projects after the event.
Mobile Monday Serbia
When: March 28th, 6:00pm
Where: Kulturni Centar Grad, Belgrade, Serbia
Mobile Monday is a set of events that take place around the world and encourage topics related to mobile technology and business. This Mobile Monday Serbia will be dedicated to mobile app development for the iOS and Android platforms with talks from Aleksandar Vacic, Milos Zikic and Aleksandar Marjanovic, as well as a word from Nokia’s representative on developing apps for their platforms.
Share Conference 2011
When: April 7th to 9th
Where: Multiple locations in Belgrade, Serbia
The Share Conference is a new conference on internet and new media activism that will take place in Belgrade in the form of talks in the day and club events at night. Speakers will include the cofounder of The Pirate Bay, the European parlament representative of the Pirate Party as well as the legenday SF author Bruce Sterling.
