Thrillist's Bar Madness
Finally, the big dance for your favorite bars
One of the reasons March Madness is so popular is because of all the local teams involved, like Harvard, who got a bid for the first time in school--wait, no? Or BC who managed to squeak ou--also not in? Ok, well...go BU! Giving you a chance to vote on the best place that consistently lets you in, Thrillist's Bar Madness.
Tipping off today across Thrillist nation, TBM's an all out 16-city, 32-bar, bracket-style free-for-all in which you get to help crown the nation's best sports saloon whilst trying to pocket a cool $2011 bar tab, which seems a lot more expensive than when you get that stuff in cans. Here's how the madness unfolds: first log-in and nominate the two top seeds (out of 12) that'll advance from the Boston play-in round to face off against bars from other Thrillist cities; from there you'll ensure the Hub dominates the action by voting in head-to-head match-ups through the Sweet Sixteen, Elite Eight, etc., until one bar stands alone humming One Shining Moment and cutting down the nets -- and considering their 21-43 record, that shouldn't really be too tough.
Squaring off to rep the Hub are heavyweights from the powerhouse Fenway Row (the Cask 'n Flagon, Game On!, Bleacher Bar) and Canal Street (The Four's, Hurricane O'Reilly's, Boston Beerworks), as well as at-large picks like Stadium Sports Bar and The Draft, which is another great time for Bostonians to sit around together and watch to see where others will get to play.
