Thrillist's Bar Madness
The ultimate watering hole showdown, now with fabulous prizes
When the NCAA Tournament rolls around, you've gotta go all out to support the local favorite: whatever bar Frank Haith is also drinking at. Give it some love and make some boozin' cash in the process, with Thrillist's Bar Madness.
A competition so intense it'd make Gus Johnson silent with astonishment, Bar Madness pits the finest drinking havens from across the land against each other in a bracket-style showdown, giving you, the voter, a shot at a $2011 bar tab, and the bars a chance at immortality, although they should all really have Pearl Jam's Vitalogy in their jukeboxes anyway. How it works: there's a nomination round in which you've gotta pick your favorite Miami bars from 12 contenders; the top two'll advance to compete against bars from other Thrillist cities, and each vote you cast gives you another shot at that tab, which is fantastic, because it's soooo much better than Diet Rite.
Miami entrants include Burger & Beer Joint, Scully's Tavern, The Democratic Republic of Beer, and Whiskey Tango, which is about the only kind of dancing Frank Haith and his Hurricanes'll be doing this year.
