Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) - Cops have gone to Charlie Sheen's home in a Beverly Hills gated community after someone reported that the erstwhile "Two and a Half Men" star had a gun, which he is prohibited from possessing under the restraining order obtained by Brooke Mueller.

Gottfried apologizes for Japan tweets

LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- U.S. comedian and voice actor Gilbert Gottfried has apologized for jokes he tweeted about last week's earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

The insurance company Aflac fired Gottfried Monday for controversial remarks he made via Twitter during the weekend.

The company said it was conducting a nationwide casting call for someone to replace the comedian as the voice of the Aflac duck in its TV commercials. Gottfried brought the character to life for a decade....

Chloe Sevigny to play Lizzie Borden

LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- U.S. actress Chloe Sevigny is to star in and be the executive producer of a 4-hour HBO miniseries about Lizzie Borden, Deadline reported Tuesday.

Borden was acquitted of slaying her father and stepmother with a hatchet in 1893; however, she was shunned by her community, which believed she committed the double homicide.

Deadline said Bryce Kass is penning the script for the HBO project now.

Seann William Scott enters rehab

LOS ANGELES (UPI) -- U.S. actor Seann William Scott has checked into a treatment facility for "health and personal issues," his publicist told People.com Tuesday.

Scott, 34, co-starred in "American Pie," "The Dukes of Hazzard," "Dude, Where's My Car?," "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back," "Role Models" and "Cop Out."

NBC orders more 'Carson Daly'

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (UPI) -- NBC says it has renewed its U.S. late-night show "Last Call with Carson Daly" for an 11th season, to air in 2011-12.

The announcement was made Tuesday by NBC's Rick Ludwin, executive vice president of late night and prime-time series, and Nick Bernstein, vice president of late night and prime-time series.

TV Land to honor 'Facts' cast

NEW YORK (UPI) -- The cast of the sitcom "The Facts of Life" is to be honored at the 2011 TV Land Awards show in New York, the cable network said Tuesday.

Mindy Cohn, Kim Fields, Nancy McKeon, Lisa Whelchel and Charlotte Rae will reunite for the first time in more than 20 years to accept the Pop Culture Award for the series, which ran from 1979 to 1988.
