Thanks to Ben Stiller, the idea of spending a night at a museum is terrifying... or was it David Schwimmer's character in Madagascar that was so scared of everything? Either way, great film! For a night at a museum that'll only fill you with food and booze, hit Ray's and Stark Bar.

Ray's and Stark Bar're the delicious new double-team at LACMA, the former being a floor-to-ceiling windowed, eclectic, Mediterranean-influenced eat spot from the District dude, and the latter an all-outdoor drinkery w/ market-fresh cocktails helmed by a guy whose claim to fame is owning a company that provides high-end bars with specialty ice, so for his sake hopefully the police aren't reading this. Top sustenance includes stuffed mushrooms topped w/ scallops & uni; corned beef-style tongue over sauteed greens; and a monster burger crowned w/ a fried egg & Bearnaise -- just don't ask how it's made, as the entire process is grizzly. Simple cocktailness includes refreshers like the Scotch/ Carpano/ Cynar "Italian Stallion"; the Scotch/ absinthe/ egg white/ lemon/ simple syrup "Morning Glory Fizz", and the gin/ Maraschino/ lemon/ grapes/ tomato "Murdered By Death", also the title of an autopsy report from a super lazy coroner.

They're open now for drinks and dinner, with lunch coming on Friday, which should give you enough time to Escape 2 Africa, if museums aren't really your thing.
