Price maintains Toshiba Classic lead

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (UPI) -- Nick Price followed up a record-breaking performance by carding a 3-under-par 68 Saturday for a two-stroke lead after two rounds of the Toshiba Classic.

Price, fresh off a course-record 60 in Friday's opening round at Newport Beach Country Club, held onto the lead with a 68 Saturday, which was good enough for a 36-hole record of 14-under 128.

He bested the old mark of 129 set in 2003 by Rodger Davis and matched by Jay Haas in 2007.

Mark Wiebe carded a 6-under 65 to climb within two strokes of the lead at minus-12.

Sharing third place at 10-under 132 were Joe Ozaki (64) and Mark O'Meara (67).

NHL: N.Y. Rangers 3, San Jose 2 (SO)

SAN JOSE, Calif. (UPI) -- Brandon Dubinsky scored in the sixth round of a shootout Saturday, giving the New York Rangers to a 3-2 victory over San Jose.

Dubinsky wandered to the right side of the ice as he approached Antti Niemi and fired a slap shot past the goalie, handing the Rangers a win that gave them sole possession of seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Erik Christensen and Mike Sauer added goals and Henrik Lundqvist turned aside 31-of-33 shots for the Rangers.

Ryan Clowe and Ben Eager found the net for the Pacific Division-leading Sharks.

Niemi made 20 saves for San Jose.
