30 Ways We've Helped Wounded Warriors
#7: Rallying Prayers on Facebook
In the age of Facebook, it takes but a few seconds to call on the support of friends
and family. PHFS West Coast Manager Joyce uses her Facebook page almost entirely
to talk about our wounded warriors and what PHFS is up to. She corresponds with
our warriors all the time on the social networking site, and she is always posting
photos of the guys, PHFS volunteers and all the great works that they do. If a wounded
warrior is in need of some thoughts and prayers, she'll post it on Facebook to rally
the prayers of her Facebook friends. A recent post by Joyce said:
"I'm asking everyone, please pray for Yev, one of our beloved 3/5 Marines, he had
an 8 hour emergency surgery a couple of days ago, was released from ICU and was
placed back in ICU today. Pray for his Mom too, she has been by his side since day
one. We love this Marine dearly."
The post collected 27 "likes" and 37 comments, all supporters who said they would
pray for the 3/5 Marine and his family. If you believe in the power of prayers,
it doesn't matter how they are requested, just that they are fulfilled. Yev and
his family are blessed to have the love and support of Joyce and her crew, who are
always taking one step beyond "amazing."
