"We heard you. It was very effective."
This is a quote from a White House staff member that we met with yesterday. He was referring to the 4,000+ phone calls that people like you made to the White House for fair farm rules. We organized more than 400 volunteers across the country to recruit their friends and family to make phone calls. It's this kind of organizing that makes us effective. This is exactly what we're going to be building and why we need your support for our fair farm bill road trip.
Nisha, our Maine organizer, will be kicking off the road trip on June 30th with seven of her volunteers. They'll be at farmer's markets in southern Maine, educating people about our food system and recruiting people to take action. Nisha's just the first of our organizers that will be hitting the road. We're planning on visiting 20 states in 30 days. We're hoping to recruit 30,000 new supporters along the way, but we need your help. Can you chip in $30 to help Nisha start the road trip that will help rebuild our broken food system?
Agribusiness monopolies, staggering food recalls and poor access to healthy food are the everyday proof that our food system is broken, and this didn't happen by accident. Decades of failed farm policy have pushed farmers off the land, and left consumers big box stores full of unhealthy food. Just about every fragment of our nation's broken food system can be tied back to failed policies in the Farm Bill.
We're building a massive grassroots organizing movement for federal policy changes aimed at making our food system fair for all. Can you help us reach our goal of raising $30,000 by August 1st so we can carry out this nationwide organizing effort?
