Former Penn Students Launch Coursekit Today, Signaling an End to Blackboard

The program Coursekit, created by three former University of Pennsylvania students, announced today to the public that the program has officially launched. Coursekit was originally thought of in June 2010 when the young students realized the failures of the popular academic site, Blackboard (News - Alert).

According to CEO Joseph Cohen in an article by TechCrunch, “It is really a Blackboard replacement with a heavy emphasis on social networking.” In the same article it states that the system will be a place where teachers can post their syllabus, reading materials, grades, links, calendars, and more.
