Ok so that lick I sent you the other day
wasn't too hard to get down.
Hopefully you tried putting it into a solo
at some point... but if you didn't don't
worry about it because we're going to talk
about how to do that better today.
And if you remember, we're on step 2 of a 4
step process:
Step 1 - Play It Like You Learned It... here
we did nothing more than repeat exactly what
was played.
Step 2 (right now) - Break It Into Chunks.

This is another one of those situation where
lead guitar playing really mimics human
language (it's remarkable how much playing is
like speaking...)
When you're a little baby and you hear your
parent say a phrase like, "it's time to go
to bed," you don't realize that there are
really many parts to that phrase.
And we can turn that phrase all around and
get things like:
- to bed it's time to go
- to go to bed it's time
- bed it's time to go
... and I think you get the idea.
So today in Bob's video, he's going to show
you how to break up the first lick (or you
might call it a phrase) into 5 chunks that
can be turned into several phrases.

I hope you enjoy this one and make sure you
try it with the jam track you'll find below
the video. Or try it with any other jam track
you might have.
And be sure to share the video with your
facebook friends and leave your comments so
we now how it's going.
Talk soon,
Griff
PS - We do our best to ensure that these
videos will play on everything, but I'll
be honest it's pretty hard to keep up with
all of the new platforms available.
If you're using a smartphone of some sort,
it may not work and I apologize for that.
In any case where you have trouble with the
video, try downloading it first below the
player window.
PPS - I think steps 3 and 4 are where you're
really going to be blown away. I'll try and
get them up soon for you.
