The doctor will see you... er, whenever
Waiting a fortnight to do anything is ridiculous, and not even just because no one's used that word in 200 years. Somehow making it even more ridiculous to wait that long to see a doctor, ZocDoc.
Launching today in Seattle, ZD is essentially OpenTable for MDs, dramatically reducing the average of 14.2 days Seatowners wait to see a new doctor by letting you get eyes on real-time schedules, book appointments online, and cut out all that scary "talking to people on phones". Just fork over your address and insurance provider, and they'll search an inventory of more than 50000 appointments (often within 24hrs) for a geo-targeted list of people who would love to make you say ahhh, but not Master P, 'cause he'd just make you say uhhhhh (and anyway, there're short bios on all the docs just in case). Additional convenience comes in the form of Jobs-phone and Android apps, as well as thoughtful reminder texts the day of your appointment, thereby ensuring that at least teenage girls have access to healthcare.
ZD also helps you choose your own specialist from their constantly growing list of general practitioners, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, etc., by letting you tell it what you're coming in for, though hopefully it's not something weird no one's seen in 200 years.
