Caps & Corks
A NW bottle shop with buckets of bloodys
1000 NW 17th; Northwest; 503.222.6435
Imagine a beer store. Now imagine a bar. Now imagine a bar with a beer store right in the damn middle of it. Now imagine that a well-mannered and charming Tyrannosaurus with a monocle is running the place. Now forget that last one, keep the first three, and you've got Caps & Corks.
After nine years, sleepy Emanon Cafe has been made into a basement-y beer haven with coolers filled with suds from 'round the world, which you can either take home, or slug at the bar for just an added $1 corkage fee, which you should pay for by check, just to be hilarious. Get after some:
Drinks: Fish around those coolers to either run off with mix-n-match sixers or bombers, or sit down with bottle-conditioned Anvil from SD's Alesmith and internationals like De-Proef's Belgian Farmhouse Saison Imperiale. There's also an at-bar-only, hop-infused vodka Hoptini w/ an IPA foam float, or a shareable 32oz pepper vodka Bloody Bucket with pickled egg and a pepperoni stick served in an actual bucket, meaning you can cross this one off your bucket list, composed of stuff you want to consume out of buckets.
Eats: C&C's "drinking food" comprises the saltine/ ham/ cheddar Redneck Board, Evan Williams-battered, Corn Flakes-dredged, baked-then-fried chicken, and poutine w/ "various cheeses and flavorful gravy", though not Wavy, because that clown has no taste.
C&C's also the finest music factory in the history of music factories launching a mug club that'll net members discounted prices on mugs printed with random names like the ThunderCats' Snarf, or any number of American Gladiators, the worst of whom imagine themselves on a beach, then imagine themselves with two beautiful babes on their arms, then actually get trucked off a platform by a dude swinging on a rope.
They also have wine, but, whatever. Hit their Facebook page for updates on what's in store and swing by for a 10% Thrillisters discount on your tab right now.
