Dow futures are indicating 61 point higher open in the wake of yesterday's and this morning's mostly better than expected corporate earnings....Microsoft; GM, And GE are the latest names to beat Street expectations......
In late morning European trading we find stocks higher by 0.25% to 1.00%....A pending IMF meeting, and this week-end's French national elections are on traders' radar screens.....Meanwhile a German business confidence index clocked in at a better than expected level adding to this morning's positive sentiment......As for the Euro currency; it seems to be waking up after several days of flat trading...Last trade $1.3188 up 54/100ths of cent against the U.S. Greenback.....
In London metals trading we find prices flat to a shade higher......Silver is up 4 cents at $31.82.....Gold sits at $1644.00 up $4.00 per ounce.....Palladium is $665.00 up $1.00......Platinum is $7.00 higher and changing hands at $1584.00......
In Oil trading we have prices nudging higher on the back of a weaker U.S. Dollar....Last trade $102.95 up 68 cents per barrel...
With the U.S. economic calendar dormant today stock traders will be taking their cue from corporate earnings and the European bond markets.....That's it....Have a good morning.....
