Summer Food - a Program of Feeding America

Summer Vacation  = Hunger?
More than twenty-one million children receive free and reduced price meals during the school year, yet only 2.3 million children of those children access free meals from U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Summer Food Service Programs in the summer. In an effort to raise awareness of where families can find free and nutritious meals for their children this summer. Feeding America and the Ad Council are distributing a new localized Public Service Advertisements (PSAs). The new campaign highlights that “summer isn’t fun when you’re hungry.” The PSAs direct families to contact their local food bank for help or visit FeedingAmerica.org/SummerMeals to find more information on the program in their area.
