Ah, the iPhone (News - Alert) 5. So much hype and excitement is being built over Apple’s next iteration of its most popular product, but not too much is known about it. The device is rumored to go on sale in October. One of the changes, according to sources, is the pin connector. All past iterations have gone with a 30-pin port on the bottom of the phone, which has become somewhat of a trademark. However, come this fall that will no longer be the case.

- Alert) will be shifting to a smaller 19-pin connector according to sources. This is to make room for the headphone jack being moved to the bottom of the phone as opposed to the top. But this may pose a problem to consumers since the new dock won’t be compatible with many popular accessories such as speakers. But this may prove an opportunity for some accessory makers.
"iPod docking speaker sales have been declining for one or two years," said an employee of a Hong Kong-based company that designs speakers for Apple products. "My previous factory is a lucky one.
