Launching this weekend at Free People on Lamar, this roaming vintage ice cream truck is captained by a Cali expat skater dude who's rounded up local frozens ranging from Mom & Pop's popsicles to La Michoacana paletas. He also has favorites from his childhood overnight-delivered, like IT'S-IT ice cream sandwiches, "the official food of San Francisco" (screw you, Rice-A-Roni!).

The season's bounty of beloved chiles grown in the valley just south of Hatch, NM arrive in Austin this weekend, and Central Market's chefs will be using them in everything from scones to sushi, as well as encouraging pepperheads to contribute their best recipe to win a year's supply (75lbs!). Novices (Hatch-lings?) will love their just-launching iPhone app, loaded with recipes from Honey Beer Hatch Sorbet to Sloppy Joses, invented by Canseco in a flash of Doc Brown-style brilliance after that ball hit him on the head.
