Living the Dream During Dallas Resto Week
The stuff you need to eat
Dallas Restaurant Week showcases the culinary talents of over 100 restaurants, which is actually way too many considering the large percentage serving stuff like "piece of chicken". We combed through billions of offerings and came up with the ideal meal -- working out being in six places at once is up to you and that wacky Michael Keaton.
The Drink: For an extra $7, Steel's offering the opportunity to see Shaq put his honorary advanced degree in Weapon Design to good use the Tokyo Mule, made with Maker's, Grand Marnier, yuzu, ginger beer, and a ginger sugar rim.
The App: Shinsei's coconut chicken jalapeno poppers are served with a yellow curry dipping sauce, and an advisory that, once you pop, you just can't stop.
The Mains: Stop by Samar for bhaji lobster with coconut-chili-lobster rice and green mango pickle; grab a goat meatloaf hoagie with chevre & sauce vierge at Central 214; or head up to Hannah's for walnut-seared Mishima Ranch sirloin with caper tomato relish and field pea cake. Don't worry, you're in a field, no one will see you peaing.
The Desserts (yeah, you should have two): Fearing's putting up a duo of hot chocolate tart (w/ cookies 'n cream ice cream) + a vanilla pudding shooter (w/ blueberry jam & toasted almond streusel). Hit the bonus round and grab Samar's Indian-style funnel cake with cardamom-scented milk jam, so you don't even need Keaton's help to be both in Dallas, and a South Asian State Fair.
Pegasus stayed up all night and compiled a comprehensive list of participating resto menus; check it out right here
