What YOU did after the World didn't end!

Hi Indiana,

Santa and I say a big hi! And we thank you for making 2013 a super year. Here are some milestones you and I achieved this year:

• Our constant opposition to genetically modified food, along with other civil society groups and stakeholders in the country, has helped keep this dangerous technology out of our food so far;
• We are launching a solar micro-grid in Dharnai (a village that hasn’t had electricity in over 40 years) to showcase that energy access is the solution for power crisis in rural India;
• An online people powered campaigning tool - Greenpeace Extra was launched which would cater to local environmental issues, which has 5 successful campaign wins this year;
• Another communication platform - Radio Sangharsh was launched that connects the grassroots stories with the outer world using the simple technology of mobile phones to empower local communities with a voice!;
• Over 2.5 million petitions were signed by supporters from all over the world to #FreetheArctic30.

The campaign to keep our food safe from genetic modification will continue. We’ll be doing a lot more work on renewable energy to establish it as a viable alternative for our country’s growing energy demands. Contributions from you helped sustain campaigns this year. They will help sustain our work in the coming year as well.
