Eddard Stark, portrayed by Sean Bean in The Game of Thrones HBO series, is an honorable man and the ruler of Winterfell. Lord Eddard possesses considerable ability as a swordsman; he was a skilled leader and noted warrior who fought alongside his friend Robert Baratheon against the Targaryen monarchy. His weapon of choice is the Valyrian steel greatsword Ice, a blade with few equals in the land of Westeros. Thorin Oakenshield, portrayed by Richard Armitage in the newest Hobbit films, is a dwarf driven by his desire to reclaim his homeland from the dreaded dragon Smaug. Thorin has also seen his share of battles, having fought against the orcs in a war lasting six years. Thorin is also heir to the kingdom of Erebor, and he will stop at nothing to reclaim what is rightfully his. He found the legendary elf-sword Orcrist in a troll-horde and has since claimed it as his personal weapon. Neither of these warriors are the type to back down, which means that any meeting between the two might come to blows.
