We're a force to be reckoned with

free press action fund

Dear Jason,

Nothing in this email will surprise you. And that's why we need your help.

This week was amazing. We won a huge victory for the public interest when the FCC voted to protect real Net Neutrality. This is, by far, the biggest win in Free Press' history.

Which is why the cable and phone companies will stop at nothing to destroy it.

Donate $10, $20, $35 or more to defend our big Net Neutrality victory.

The fight now moves to Congress, where Internet service providers like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon are among the biggest campaign donors. These guys are used to getting their way in Washington and they won't take this defeat lying down.

The next few months in Congress will be intense. We'll see legislation designed to undermine the FCC's new rules, attempts to defund the agency, and a new wave of ISP-funded Astroturf groups trying to confuse Congress and rip off consumers.

We don't just need to defend Net Neutrality. We need to show Congress that it's picked the wrong fight and we won't back down.

Defend the Win: Donate to Protect Net Neutrality in Congress.

This year Free Press has proven we're a force to be reckoned with in Washington. Our intellectual work is top-notch, our coalitions are strong, our creative campaigns get results, and our members are deeply committed. Now we need to show Congress what we showed the FCC: Messing with the Internet is a big mistake.

And we've got some great tricks up our sleeves. Some we can tell you about now — like how we'll mobilize thousands of people to lobby their elected officials about the need for strong Net Neutrality rules. Others we have to keep a secret because, well, some tactics are better when they're a surprise.

But we can't do any of this without your supportFree Press is successful because we're independent. We don't take money from business, government or political parties. We aren't beholden to anyone else's agenda. All we care about is creating strong policies that protect the public interest.

We poured all of our resources into this Net Neutrality fight at the FCC — and you can see the payoff. Now we really need your help to defend what we've won in Congress and the courts, to put more organizers on the ground, and bring more advocates to Washington.

Please give as generously as you can. And thanks for all that you do.

P.S. One thing we've learned is that when we organize, we win. Defending our historic Net Neutrality victory will require ongoing pressure — and your support. Thank you!
