Brands tap into fashionable Instagram kids
Brands are competing for kid ambassadors on Instagram, with babies and toddlers taking a starring fashion role. Children with big followings can earn around $250 per post, according to mother Kerry Seymour, who now works from home with her 18-month-old daughter. "If a mother endorses it, that gives the brand much higher credibility than advertising," says Bruce Perrott of the University of Technology Sydney. News.com.au (Australia) (8/26)

Limit promotional content for better social marketing
To avoid alienating your followers, make sure that only 1 in 5 of your social media posts is promotional, Erika Montgomery of Three Girls Media says. Also, focus on targeting customers who live near your business, and use software to schedule your posts without completely automating your social media outreach, experts say.
