| Dear Friend, You've been on the frontlines all year taking action and urging Congress to work on a strong child nutrition bill. Thousands of passionate advocates like you across America have raised your voices — calling, emailing, texting and participating in events. The good news is it's working — Congress seems to be listening and is working on a bill. The bad news is our work is not over quite yet. It is now clear that Congress will not meet the September 30 deadline to reauthorize the child nutrition bill and will delay action on a new bill. The delay could be for a couple of weeks, it could be months. What we do know is that we need to keep up the pressure on Congress to finish their work and pass a new bill. I know it's frustrating to see the can kicked down the road, but the silver lining is it buys us more time to keep fighting for what we believe in and make sure Congress does this right. All I'm asking you to do is raise your hand to let us know you're with us until the end. We'll keep providing you special updates on what's happening in Washington and, when the time is right, ask you to join us in the final push. With everything else going on in life, I know reading one more email, making one more phone call can be yet another unnecessary distraction.
