Forty-nine percent of Super Bowl viewers expect to look at Facebook during the game, while 26% will look at Instagram and 22% will turn to Twitter, an infographic from Survata and Adweek shows. Twenty-eight percent said they liked to see teasers of ads on social before the game, while 36% said they preferred to be surprised by the ads on the day of the game.

Snapchat is partnering with TV networks such as ABC on fast-paced vertical video content such as "Watch Party: The Bachelor," which features fans of the show discussing the previous night's episode. Other collaborations include a complementary series to NBC's "The Voice" and one featuring original skits by Jimmy Fallon.

Generation X -- those aged between 35 and 49 -- invest six hours and 58 minutes of their time each week on social media, 39 minutes more than their millennial counterparts, per Nielsen. The research found that Facebook is the most popular social network for smartphone users, followed by Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat.
