What is meant by short-term loans/short-term funds? Short-term funds or loans are often needed when your expenses temporarily exceed your available cash. These loans are typically for a few hundred dollars, but can be as high as several thousand. Generally the expectation is that these loans will be repaid within a few months, vs longer-term loans that would be repaid in one or more years.
