I had a moment of panic this week Indiana Jones!
I flipped the page of my planner and saw February 29th. AND I WAS SO CONFUSED for about 5 seconds.
It was like I saw the number and time warped back 1 year. To last year's actual February 29th.
And then I remembered that the planner I use is not year-specific. I've used this planner for nearly a decade and most years I just skip that day in my planner. But this past week, I had a MOMENT of pause.
Then I quickly crossed it off...and then exhaled a deep sigh that went along with the "how is it already March" thought. It's so cliche...but...the days are long but the years are short.
Rewritten for 2020-2021...the days are long but the months are short and this year is the LONGEST.
Pardon my time warp moments here. I imagine you can relate.
Despite these long days, short months, and the neverending year of ______ (you fill in your own blank there!), there is much to be grateful for - including the opportunity to continue to share new recipes, cooking videos and podcast episodes with you!
First up...
NEW EPISODE of The Erin Chase Show
I'm digging into the topic of MONEY.
Money, money, money, money.....MONEY. (Sing it with me now!)
I have so many thoughts and ideas and concepts and "ahas" to share with you. (It's the longest episode to date!)
I'm sharing what money mistakes I've made...and what I'm doing now to correct those.
I've also got details on our savings plan...and how we are getting closer to "that ideal savings %."
I hope this episode makes you think differently about your personal finances, and your big money goals too.

EASIEST WAY TO SAVE MONEY?!?!
Along the lines of money...
You want to know what I think is the easiest way to save (or find) money in your budget?
FOOD.
Specifically, groceries.
If you need $100 - it's in your pantry/freezer and fridge...in the form of meals...and spending $100 less than you would on groceries this week. Because you made meals with ingredients you already have.
Sure - you can call to get new rates on your phone/cable bills.
You can refinance your house (not a bad idea with the interest rates as low as they are these days.)
(Side note: we refinanced this past summer and switched from 30-year fixed to 15-year fixed...and will save $35,000 in INTEREST by switching to shorter time frame with lower rate. WHOA. Call your broker to learn more!)
You can call and negotiate on pending medical bills.
But if you need $100 THIS WEEK --> It's in your food budget.
If you want to lower your grocery spending...permanently...I can help with that too.
I want to help you beyond finding some new cash in this week's grocery spending.
If you haven't yet...you need to take my 5 Grocery Shopping Mistakes Workshop. It's all online, all videos, and self-paced for your convenience.
If you want to skip the workshop and start on my online class - The Grocery Budget Makeover - you can tap here to learn more about that too.
Now, from saving money to saving time........
