Your Signature is Needed: Tell insurance giant AIG to END support for fossil fuel destruction

THE LAST 75 ORCAS IN SOUTHERN RESIDENT PODS ARE ONE OIL SPILL AWAY FROM EXTINCTION. These rare, intelligent creatures are struggling to survive in the face of multiplying threats. Oil tanker traffic starves orcas by disrupting their sonar and endangering salmon -- orcas' primary food source. And the proposed Trans Mountain pipeline expansion doesn't just increase ship traffic, it also raises the possibility of a devastating oil spill.

Corporate giant AIG serves as an accomplice to these crimes against nature, insuring new fossil fuel projects at the expense of these beautiful creatures. As orcas starve, their dwindling companions grieve. If environmentalists like you don't act, these majestic whales could be lost forever. Demand AIG stop supporting fossil fuel projects that threaten killer whales.

The Trans Mountain pipeline network pumps toxic tar sands oil, endangering marine habitats, drinking water, and public health. Indigenous communities have repeatedly voiced that the expansion project will further elevate these risks. But instead of standing with Indigenous people and critically endangered orcas, AIG is catering to fossil fuel billionaires.

The Trans Mountain pipeline expansion proposal is so horrendous, that 17 insurers have decided against providing it coverage. AIG is not among them. Indigenous rights violations, increased threat of oil spills, and dead killer whales are all not enough to convince AIG to join its fellow insurers. That's why we need YOU to speak upProtect our planet from vile tar sands oil: Demand AIG stops insuring dirty energy projects.

Standing with you,
Marcie Keever,
Oceans and vessels program director,
Friends of the Earth
