Diversity is all the ways in which we differ: race, ethnicity, gender, age, marital status, sexual orientation, parental status, educational background, etc. National Disability Employment Awareness Month: October The 2019 American Community Survey estimated that among noninstitutionalized civilians with a disability in the U.S., 7.9M are employed and 0.9M are unemployed. | National Energy Awareness Month: October The 2020 County Business Patterns report on electric power generation counted 3,664 establishments with 127,456 paid employees and an annual payroll of $15.9B. | Italian-American Heritage and Culture Month: October The 2021 American Community Survey estimated out of a total U.S. population of 331.9 million, 15.9 million people reported Italian ancestry, or about 4.8%. | Polish-American Heritage Month: October The 2021 American Community Survey estimated the U.S. population at 331.9M. About 8.2M reported Polish ancestry. | National Seafood Month: October The 2020 Business Patterns counted 10,772 establishments, $4.54B annual payroll, and 70,725 employees in fishing, seafood, and marina industries. | National Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept. 15 - Oct. 15 The 2019 American Community Survey estimated the U.S. population at 328,239,523.
