Boris Johnson made key concession with Australian PM Scott Morrison (left) (PA Images) |
Boris Johnson obviously thought he could have his steak and eat it. But he was wrong. The former PM is in a stew over beef cuts, after details of a remarkable dinner with the Australian PM Scott Morrison revealed how Boris blundered the post-Brexit trade deal. He agreed to measure beef by the weight of cuts, rather than the entire cow – allowing much more Aussie imports in. The gleeful Australian ambassador rushed off to the loo to have the concession formalised and ready for Boris to sign. British farming campaigner Liz Webster said she was "f***ing furious" at Johnson flushing the domestic sector down the toilet. Former US Treasury secretary Larry Summers thinks we have flushed quite a lot away when it comes to Brexit. The top Clinton and Obama official called Britain's exit from the EU a "historic economic error" which has helped push up inflation. Thanks Boris. |
